Plus: Get rid of pesky +15s in Excel
Hey hey! Last week was a total “pinch me” moment. 🥲
I had such a blast teaching Excel to all 35,000+ of you who came to my free live class, and I can’t wait to hear about how you put your new skills to work!
While our October trainings are over, don’t worry! There’s something extra special coming next month. Which brings me to this:
Which class would you be most interested in joining?Choose one below! |
How to Get Rid of the Pesky ‘+15’ in Excel 🫠
The second most frustrating sight in Excel (right after the dreaded #REF! error)? That random +15 that pops up when you’re dealing with large numbers. What does it even mean?!
Basically, Excel automatically switches large numbers to scientific notation so it can handle calculations more easily. But what if you just want to see the full number?
I got you. Here’s how to revert it in under 10 seconds:
Step 1) Select the column
Step 2) Change Data Type to Number
Step 3) Click the Decrease Decimal button twice
All done! Now your boss knows who to turn to if Excel ever tries to pull that +15 move again. 👀
What’s the Best Way to Learn Power BI?
“I know mastering Power BI could set me apart, but I get lost every time I open it up.”
“If I could build beautiful data visualizations, I’d be in a solid place to go for that promotion.”
Do these thoughts sound familiar? If so: I got you. In my course Power BI with Miss Excel, you’ll learn everything on how to build stunning data visualizations and save hours at the office by streamlining analysis.
And if you’re brand new to Power BI? This course is perfect for you, too—just like it was for Heather:

Here’s What’s Really in Your Way 💭
I’m a big believer in mastering technical skills to grow as a professional. It’s why I offer courses in Excel, PowerPoint, and more—because these skills are key to getting your dream job or promotion!
But technical skills are only half of the formula for success. The other half? Doing the inner work.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be here as Miss Excel if I’d only focused on the technical side. Building this business required a major internal shift to tune out limiting beliefs. For example:
If I hadn’t challenged the belief, “I’m too shy,” I’d have never had the courage to post my first TikTok in 2020.
If I hadn’t let go of, “No one will want to hear what I have to say,” I wouldn’t have launched my first Excel course.
If you’re looking to grow professionally, ask yourself: Is another résumé tweak really what you need? Will learning a new interview method actually land you your dream role?
Or is there something deeper—such as a limiting belief—you should address first so you can show up fully?
Maybe the solution to your career dissatisfaction isn’t applying to a new job. Maybe it’s pursuing entrepreneurship, or a dream you’ve told yourself “isn’t possible.”
Perhaps you don’t need viral interview frameworks to solve your pre-screening jitters, but instead, all you need is to focus on eliminating the hidden belief that you’re “not worthy” of the role. That could work wonders to help you show up as your best, most confident self.
While learning technical skills will always move you closer to your goals, they’re just one piece of the puzzle. 🧩
Pair them with inner work (meditation, journaling for self-reflection, confronting fears, etc.) and you’ll unlock a level of transformation that no course or certification alone could.
Know what your Outlook emails say before opening them. 👀
A simple mindset reframe to help you become your best self. 💭

The one comment that most made me LOL? “Merge all the cells into one giant cell.” Nothing says “Excel wizardry” like creating the least functional cell possible. 😅
Stay Excelent,
