The 38-second Excel tip to leave work early 🏃
The REPT function is about to be your BFF
Hi there! Raise your hand if any of these sound familiar: 🙋
You pull the same reports every week. You send the same status updates every Monday. And your inbox? Sitting at 300+ unread emails. 🫠
What if I told you AI could automate all of that? Most people never learn how, which is exactly why I'm hosting a free AI class!
This class is for you if:
☑️ You’re ready to hand the repetitive busywork off to AI and get hours of your time back
☑️ You know you're capable of higher-level work, but the busywork keeps burying you
☑️ You’re a little nervous about falling behind and want to close that gap before it becomes a real problem
Ready to make this month the one you finally figured out AI? Save your seat before they’re gone!
P.S. We just added a NEW 5 PM ET session! So if your workday usually keeps you busy, you can join right after you log off. 🎉

The 38-Second Excel Tip That’ll Help You Leave Work Early 📊
It’s a Monday at 3:49 PM when your boss pings you:
“Can you make the sales numbers pop before you head out?”
Shoot. There goes your plan to log off early. Sure, you could draw the bar charts by hand, but it won’t exactly be your finest work (and it’s definitely not getting you home on time). 🙃

The good news? There's a way easier fix! Here’s how it works:
Step 1) Type =REPT("|", B2)
Let’s zoom in: 🔍 The REPT function repeats a character a set number of times. The vertical bar is our chosen character. And cell B2 has the number we want to visualize.

Step 2) Change the font of that column to Playbill
Step 3) Copy the formula down the rest of your numbers

Ta-da! Tiny in-cell bar charts (and it only took about 38 seconds!).
Now let's really show off. Open Copilot, Excel's AI assistant, drop your table in, and ask it to summarize any trends. Now your boss gets clear data, a quick summary, and you’re still out the door early. 😉
This is just one small way AI can work for you. Want more? Come join my free AI class! It’s full of ready-to-use AI workflows that’ll help you save up to 3+ hours per week.

The Secret Nobody Tells You 💨
In 2023, I said yes to being a keynote speaker at Social Media World. There was just one problem: I wasn’t good at public speaking. Like, at all. My heart would start pounding even just thinking about it. 🫠
But with the date confirmed, there was no backing out. So I practiced daily. I made note cards. I rehearsed to anyone who would listen (my partner Mike heard my presentation at least 3,538 times 🤣).
And by the time I got on that stage? I had become the speaker I needed to be, all because I said yes before I was one.
That experience taught me something I now believe wholeheartedly: life works backwards.
We think we need to become the person first—to have the skill and confidence—and then we take the leap. But it's the opposite. You take the leap first, and life rearranges itself around you.
I see this everywhere now. For example, when you:
Have no desire to work out. But 30 minutes in, you get a surge of motivation. Showing up is what made you strong (instead of “waiting” to feel strong).
Set the boundary. While it feels uncomfortable in the moment, the peace follows. Because you don’t find calm and then speak up. Speaking up is what creates calmness.
Another example? When AI feels intimidating and you feel behind. But instead of waiting until you're "techie enough" to explore it, you sign up for my free AI class!
Because the people who "get" AI aren't the ones who waited until they felt ready. They're the ones who leapt first. ✨

Thanks for reading! Hope your Fourth of July was a good one. 💚 Mine was spent at Lake George with my family, where I rented my dad a boat and he immediately turned it into his own personal dance floor. He danced so hard his hat flew off. 🤣
Stay Exceling,
Kat
