Stack your way to the top

And segment intending 101

Hiya! I’m in Laguna Beach for the month, and if I’ve learned one thing being here, it’s not to underestimate the healing power of sunshine. Whether your job is stressing you out or you just feel blah after a long day, a 20-minute dip in the sun can wash aaalllll that tension away. 🌞

Stack Your Way to the Top

Introducing VSTACK, the perfect function for all your dataset combining needs. This function came out about a year ago and allows you to vertically stack two or more sets of data on top of one another into a single column or range.

The best part? It does this in seconds (since we don’t need to copy and paste at a snail’s pace 🐌).

An example of when we’d use this function:

Imagine you own a yoga studio. In your spreadsheet, you have the day’s transactions—virtual lessons, in-person lessons, and retail. Your goal is to stack these columns so you can calculate the day’s total income.

Here’s how you’d do this in three simple steps:

Step 1) In your desired cell, enter =VSTACK(

Step 2) Then, insert the values of your datasets and separate each with a comma. In our case, the formula is now =VSTACK(A2:B5,D2:E5,G2:H5

Step 3) Close out your formula with parentheses and poof! There’s your stack. 🥞

Mini-Manifestation: Segment Intending

I’ll let you in on a secret. When I first started learning how to manifest, I was pretty overwhelmed. The concept of manifesting your dream life can be a huge mental exercise that requires a lot of self-reflection and soul-searching.

But manifestation doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating.

An easy way to simplify manifestation is segment intending. Coined by spiritual teacher Abraham Hicks, this is when you spend a few moments setting an intention before a segment in your day.

A segment could be commuting to your job, having dinner with friends, or hopping on a client call. Each time you transition into a new phase of your day, you spend a few moments tuning in and “intending” it to go a certain way.

For example, before getting on camera to create content I say to myself, “I intend to show up energetically, authentically, and get this done in 45 minutes.” It’s basically a mini-manifestation!

Segment intending is a simple way to operate from a place of purpose and intentionality. And deliberately creating our days (instead of just reacting to them) can turn our whole lives around.

If you’re curious about trying segment intending yourself, here’s the how-to:

1) Before a segment, spend a few moments breathing and getting present.

2) Then, say one to three sentences about how you envision this moment going. If everything went well, what would that look like?

3) Release your intention and flow into your segment.

You’ll encounter moments when segments don’t go as planned. That’s just life! But approaching them from a place of mindfulness and positivity better equips you to handle whatever comes your way. ✨
