Plus: My favorite time-saving OneNote tip

Hey there! Last Friday was a very special day: Miss Excel turned four years old! Hereā€™s where we are today:

  • 2 million people in the Miss Excel Community

  • 300+ Corporate Clients

  • 22,000+ Course Members

  • 12 courses across Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, and AI

And of course, a team of 17 superstars whoā€™ve made this all possible (including my partner and best friend)! These have been the best four years of my life creating and learning with you all. šŸ„¹

Hereā€™s to many more!

Save Up to 2h Everyday With the Ultimate Meeting Prep Tool

As a business owner, it can be great to see my calendar fill up. New meetings = more connections and opportunities.

Butā€¦a busy calendar also leads to increased prep time, either late the day before or early in the morning.

With the Daily Brief, Mindy helps you stay organized and does the background research work for you. You'll receive an email every morning, outlining your day ahead:

  • Summary of your events of the day, including information about physical locations and links to virtual meetings šŸ“œ

  • Past interactions and personal profiles based on real-time web search, LinkedIn, and other databases šŸ‘„

  • An in-depth dossier when richer insights are available šŸ”

Save 10 to 15 minutes of preparation time for each of your external meetings. Sign up for Mindyā€™s Daily Brief here.

Save Hours With This OneNote Trick

It doesnā€™t matter whether your typing speed is 10 or 100 words per minuteā€”nobody should have to spend their precious time manually typing paper documents into OneNote (side note: Find out your typing speed right hereā€”your girl is at a cool 75 šŸ˜Ž).

Luckily, OneNoteā€™s Copy Text from Picture feature does the heavy lifting for you. Hereā€™s how to use it the next time your boss asks you to upload physical copies into OneNote:

Step 1) Go to Insert > Picture

Step 2) Right-click on your picture

Step 3) Select Copy Text from Picture

Step 4) Find a spot in your OneNote page

Step 5) Press CTRL + V

Voila! All thatā€™s left to do is fiddle with the formatting and youā€™re good to go.

If youā€™re thinking, ā€œWhat else can OneNote do?!ā€ā€¦a lot. I cover dozens more time-saving tips (just like this one!) in my OneNote Mini Course. Get 20% off with the code WORKBOOK20!

The Superpower That is Hyping Yourself Up

Imagine this: Itā€™s the day of the Super Bowlā€¦and the players go straight from their hotel to the field. No warmup. No pep talk from the coach. No high fives in the locker room.

Or imagine if Taylor Swift went on stageā€¦without first rounding up her dancers and background singers to set the tone for a great night.

Whether itā€™s athletes or entertainers, high performers know how important it is to get in the zone before itā€™s game time. Itā€™s how they boost their energy, bring their a-game, and increase their chances of success.

So why donā€™t we pump ourselves up in our everyday lives?

This realization changed everything for me. In 2020, I started hyping myself up before each task: Filming Instagram Reels, teaching Excel masterclasses, and even handling accounting.

To get in that heightened state of mind, Iā€™d meditate, go spend time in nature, sing, and have a good old fashioned dance party. šŸ•ŗšŸ»

And you know what happened? Not only was I having way more fun, but business growth skyrocketed. People were more likely to follow my Instagram for my positive videos. Corporate partners hired me for my upbeat teaching style.

This is why getting in the zone before doing anything is a superpower.

Hereā€™s what this could look like for you:

  • Listening to a motivational podcast before going in for a job interview

  • Hopping into an ice-cold shower before that early morning Zoom meeting

  • Dancing to your favorite playlist before sitting down to write a cover letter

Youā€™re already practicing for the thing itselfā€”so why not practice your mindset, too? Itā€™s not just a way to have more fun, but itā€™s how you bring your best self to everything you do. āœØ

  • Sure, you could Google ā€œconvert ounces to litersā€ā€¦or let this function do it for you.

  • Try this tip the next time you need to schedule a group meeting in Outlook.

  • How I went from being a nervous presenter to loving public speaking

  • Bored? Instead of scrolling TikTok, try doing these five productive things instead.

  • Did you know about the ROMAN function in Excel?!

Thanks for being here! Last week, I asked: If you could wake up a master in any Excel topic, which one would you choose?

Hundreds of you submitted an answer. And the most common one?

āœØ Pivot Tables. āœØ

Letā€™s just say I have something special for you in store (and for everyone else, donā€™t worryā€”Iā€™m saving all of your answers for content down the line!).

Stay Exceling,

Kat
