Conditional Formatting 101 đ¤
âHow am I going to find this data? Iâm going to be here all night.â đ
That was what my co-worker said to me one day in 2017 during our 9â5. Our boss had asked them to highlight the top and bottom 10% of customers in a sea of dataâand they needed it yesterday.
Thatâs when I taught them the magic of conditional formatting. In just a few minutes, Excel did the heavy lifting and surfaced the numbers they needed.
Hereâs how I used Excel to grab the top 10% (and help them leave the office early!).
Go to Home > Conditional Formatting > Top/Bottom Rules > Top 10%
2) Choose a formatting option and hit Ok
Thatâs it! To find the bottom 10%, just select Bottom 10% under the same menu.
This is just the beginning of what Conditional Formatting can do. Curious for more tips? I share them all here!
The 30-Second Secret to Owning Any Room đ
Have you ever seen someone truly magnetic enter a room? The energy ⨠shifts. ⨠Heads turn. Suddenly, everyone feels more at ease, engaged, and electric.
This isnât magic. Itâs charisma. And mastering it? Thatâs the key to nailing first impressions and transforming your career.
Hereâs why: Whether youâre pitching clients, interviewing for your dream job, or leading a meeting, how you enter a room sets the tone for how people perceive your leadership potential. The question isâŚhow do you set that magnetic tone?
Make others feel seen. Writer Polina Pompliano calls this âdeep magnetismââgiving each person in the room individualized attention through eye contact and greetings.
Just look at how Olivia Rodrigo walks onto stage saying hello to the audience! Queen đ
I just call it the â30-Second Intentional Entranceâ (because who doesnât love a good framework? đ) and it boils down to four easy steps:
Pause at the door.
Make eye contact and say hello to everyone.
Smile and breathe.
Walk slowly (this signals confidence!) to your seat.
It seems simple, but these small actions are powerful. They put others at ease, signal charisma, and build trustâqualities people naturally associate with leaders.
So try it at your next meeting, interview, or networking event! I promise youâll notice the shift. Because when you set the energy of the room, youâre not just entering itâyouâre owning it. đŤ
No idea what #REF!, #NAME?, or #VALUE! even mean? Now you do.
Is your Excel super slow? Shape-shifters might be your culprit.
These 19 words can unlock someoneâs hidden potential.
I use these three Outlook shortcuts all. the. time. đ¤
