Energy overrides the algorithm ⚡️

And how to create QR codes in Excel

Hello and happy Thursday! ✨ I’m currently in California and you guys—the hurricane kicked my butt. Our whole house’s power went out so your girl had to DoorDash a fan in the middle of the night to keep from melting. 🫠 If you have A/C (or any type of electricity) right now, consider yourself blessed (and I’m jealous).

QR Codes in Excel? Scan’t Wait!

Did you know QR codes almost went extinct—but the pandemic revived them?

Today, it’s hard to find a restaurant that doesn’t have a QR code for its menu (are you team QR or team physical menus? 📰). QR codes aren’t just useful in hospitality; I love using them in Excel when I’m dealing with URLs.

Here’s how to create QR codes in Excel in 4️⃣ easy steps:

Step 1) On your ribbon, click on Insert. Then, navigate to Add-ins and select Get Add-ins.

Step 2) Search for QR and select QR4OFFICE before clicking Add and then Continue!

Step 3) Enter the URL link for the QR code. Adjust color, background, and size to your preference. When you’re done, select Insert!

Step 4) Lastly, drag the QR code to the desired cell. Rinse and repeat!

All done. Now you have another Excel skill in your toolbelt—AKA another reason to confidently go for that promotion or raise. 😎

The Little-Known Secret to Content Creation

“How can I create online content that stands out?” Google this question and you’ll be inundated with answers. 🫠

  • For some, the key is consistency. Post every day for at least three years if you want to get anywhere!

  • Others say the secret is to track your content’s analytics to hit those KPIs.

  • We can’t forget those who swear by infusing persuasion, marketing, and copywriting into your posts.

I was able to grow Miss Excel to seven figures without following any of these suggestions. How? Because these tips don’t consider that content creation is an energy game. 💥

The key to scroll-stopping content isn’t the font you choose or the time of day you post—it’s the energy you put in when creating it. Because all social media is a transmission of energy.

Think about it! When you open Instagram and go on a 10-minute scroll (okay, 45-minute), which posts draw you in? The ones that are helpful and leave you feeling g-o-o-d. ✨

When you’re creating content, you’re transferring your energy digitally. By hitting post, you’re sending that energy to real people who choose whether or not they’ll absorb what you’ve put out there.

And chances are if the energy behind the content is doubtful, resentful, or negative, they'll keep on scrollin’. So what does it mean to infuse content with positive energy?

It’s simple: Create stuff that lights you up. If you have a post but the idea of publishing makes you squeamish, can it. 🗑 If you’re feeling blah and have zero inspiration, don’t post for a while. Follow your flow.

Remember: Energy overrides the algorithm. Create what feels fun for you and not only will the process be 10x more enjoyable, but you’ll leave the world a better place than you found it.
