How to create live presentations in PowerPoint!

Hey! Since launching Miss Excel five years ago, I’ve gotten some version of this message hundreds of times:

“Help! My spreadsheet is broken, my manager is asking me for it in an hour, and I can’t figure out what’s wrong. đŸ˜©â€

While I can’t teleport through the screen and fix it myself (I wish), I’ve built the next best thing: The Excel Panic Button

This is your direct line to Miss Excel-trained specialists who are available 24/7. They’re real, human experts you can trust with your files (no bots!) to help you fix your spreadsheet issues, fast. And the best part? We made it super affordable at only $0.63 a day!

This is a VIP early access offer for our newsletter subscribers only. We’re also waiving the $30 setup fee* for the first 1,000 people.

*When you click the “Get Started” button on the website, if you don’t see a $30 setup fee you’ll know you’re part of the first 1,000 VIP members.

Clone Yourself for Team Meetings 👯

POV: You’ve spent weeks preparing a training presentation on the new software update. The day arrives, and half your team calls in sick with the flu. “Can we reschedule for next week when everyone’s back?” your manager asks.

Shoot. Now you’re scrambling to find another time slot when all 15 of your team members are available. đŸ«  Instead of playing schedule Tetris, why don’t you create a Live Presentation in PowerPoint

Live Presentations turn your slides into a shareable MP4 video so your team can watch the training at their own pace. They can read live subtitles and rewind confusing parts, and you only have to “present” once!

Here’s how it’s done:

Step 1) Go to File > Export

Step 2) On the pop-up page, change the File Format from PDF to MP4

Step 3) Adjust the seconds spent on each slide

Step 4) Click Export and you’re done!

Now your training deck is an on-demand video (and you’ve saved yourself from calendar coordination chaos đŸ€).

The Keynote That Changed Everything đŸŽ€

There I was, backstage at Social Media Marketing World, mic’d up and waiting. And waiting. And waiting. For 40 minutes, I sat there knowing they were about to call me up as a keynote speaker—a first for me at the time.

Finally, they called my name. JLo’s “Get Right” started blasting, and I walked out. People said I crushed it, but honestly? I blacked out for the entire 45 minutes. I couldn’t even listen to that JLo song for months. đŸ«

I was proud to have done it, but the experience was so intense that I thought, “I never want to do that or feel that way again.” Which was frustrating because mentally, I knew I wanted more speaking gigs!

That’s when I realized that I’d been doing all this work on the mind (affirmations, mindset shifts, etc.), but it was my body that was having the reaction. Enter: somatic work.

  • Somatic work entails practices that tune into your body to help it release tension.

  • Think breathwork, grounding, or a simple body scan.

This isn’t just for keynotes. Chances are, your body is storing tension from everyday work moments (I know you’re still reeling from that first “can we chat” message you got from a boss). Over time, this tension builds up and creates hesitation when big opportunities arise. Just like my first keynote experience. 🙃

Once I started doing somatic work, I felt that anxiety slowly melt away. And just last week, I did a speaking engagement with Powerhouse Women

The next time you're “mysteriously” avoiding something you actually want, try to pause and scan your body. Sometimes the biggest career barrier isn't your skills, but just old tension creeping up on you. The good news is that you can rewire it.
